I know as well as the next guy, it’s hard to think up the next pet rock.
However I think that music-infused bottled water is not the ticket to the yacht club. These guys have a great little idea but does it have legs?

Interesting story I read tonite about a hospital in Seattle that removed a 6 year old girl’s uterus to make better the quality of her life. Right now she has the mental capacity of three month old child. By arresting her sexual maturity, the progression of her disability will slow, and she will live longer and have a better life. So what’s the catch?
The doctors, by removing this girl’s uterus without court approval, involuntarily sterilized her. And, yeah, you guessed it, Washington state has an anti-involuntary sterilization law. Yeah, I think I’ll go with the doctor’s advice.
To the state’s credit, the law was originally passed in 1909 as a way to curb gene-cleansing. It a widely held belief that the inferior should be sterilized as not to reproduce. There is a good article at the Seattle Weekly and here on CFIF.
The full story about little Ashley is here.

I found this blog post pretty entertaining. A woman who works in a bar posts on her blog pictures of fake IDs which she confiscates. Apparently she received a letter from her web host that she was violating the DMCA and had to remove the photo. Read about it here.

I read that headline today regarding MSN. I thought while funny, it was quite apropos.
I’ve felt for a few years now that Microsoft would join forces with a search engine conglomerate to bolster their media hold. I did honestly feel that Google would make a better merger and an unstoppable combination. But I guess the antitrust lawyers would have a field day with that and it would cost a fortune in legal fees. So Yahoo is the next logical choice.
This merger, should it go through, is step one in the giant battle of Internet Armageddon. Step two is when Google and eBay merge. Then the two giants fight to the death. There can be only one…

Last night was Cassandra’s chorus concert, Dancing Through Life. Dancing Through Life is a song from the musical Wicked with which apparently the music teacher is quite enamored.
The chorus concert was great. The kids are just really into it and the music selection was well done. I was quite impressed as were the other parents I’m sure. Cassandra had an awesome solo. I wish I’d brought the video camera.

However, it was staged in the school cafeteria which conveniently has a stage. It’s always hot in that school, not sure why. Maybe the like to keep the kiddies warm. But it was hot as hell, a jillion degrees. And because it’s in the cafeteria there is the lingering smell of children’s lunch.
For those of you who are unfamiliar with the fine art of baloney sandwich preparation I submit to you the complete idiot’s guide to making a baloney sandwich.
